See who’s pitching at the 2024 Investor Showcase
Each spring, entrepreneurship@UBC and ICICS, the collaborators of HATCH Venture Builder, bring together our venture and investor community to create connections and build networks at the Investor Showcase.
This year, we are excited to announce 17 ventures that have been selected to take the stage on May 7 at UBC Robson Square. Designed to feature UBC’s investor-ready companies, the Investor Showcase highlights ventures leading their industries, demonstrating the progress being made through research and innovation.
As part of the Investor Showcase applications, ventures went through a rigorous application process. Semi-finalists were invited to pitch in front of our external Evaluation Committee comprised of:

- CNANO: Advancing drug delivery through the skin for enhanced efficacy and sustainability
- DECAP Research & Development: Providing smart sharps solutions to employees accelerating safety and productivity
- DISC Alloys: Providing the new space economy with the “picks and shovels”
- Flying Wolf: Use AI to empower security management and reveal business insights
- Insporos: Removing diseased and defective seeds for improved yield and efficiency.
- Memree AI Inc.: Developing the next generation digital behavioural therapy for older adults
- Minpraxis: Transforming orebody characterization to improve productivity in mining and milling.
- Orca Water Solutions: Transforming how the world measures and values water.
- SmartParent Mobile Health: Providing accurate information to ensure a safe parenting journey.
- SnapCyte Solutions Inc.: Democratizing life science research through accessible, precise cell growth apps
- VitaLink: Providing state-of-the-art portable health monitoring solutions to improve patients' wellbeing
- VulcanX Energy Corp.: Providing low-cost and low-emission hydrogen and solid carbon.
- Wicked Rose: Technical, Canadian-made activewear for women in martial arts
