entrepreneurship@UBC propels UBC innovations into the world through venture creation,
providing UBC students, researchers, faculty, alumni and staff with the resources, networks, and
funding they need to succeed.
About entrepreneurship@UBC (long)
Since 2013, entrepreneurship@UBC has mobilized UBC innovation and entrepreneurship,
helping the UBC community to translate their innovation into tangible impact through the
creation of transformative ventures. Working with a multitude of faculties, institutes and student
clubs, entrepreneurship@UBC activates entrepreneurs and innovators in an equitable and
inclusive environment by providing experiential learning, resources, and services directed at
company creation, funding and growth.
About HATCH Venture Builder
HATCH Venture Builder is a collaborative initiative between entrepreneurship@UBC and the
Institute for Computing Information and Cognitive Systems (ICICS) supporting UBC’s thriving
community of interdisciplinary innovators who are building ventures driving social,
environmental and economic impact to solve some of the world’s most pressing problems.
Logos and Brand Assets
entrepreneurship@UBC should be represented visually using its primary logos - these can be downloaded in PNG and SVG formats here. Examples of use might include entrepreneurship@UBC branded assets, or to signal affiliation with entrepreneurship@UBC on venture or partner branded assets, e.g. presentations and reports.
Our full current brand guidelines document with information on colours, fonts, layouts and brand consistency can be found here.
The secondary logos may be used when needed for additional contrast, and for consistency with partner branding.
entrepreneurship@UBC uses UBC's standard fonts - Guardian Egyptian and Whitney. Information on and access to these font files can be found on the UBC website.

Dr. Sean Lumb - Associate Director
Dr. Sean Lumb is passionate about translating research innovation into transformative startup opportunities and working with entrepreneurial researchers. Trained as a research chemist (PhD '99, UBC Dept of Chemistry), Sean's career spans technology licensing and commercialization, startup founding and fundraising, seed-stage investment analysis, and mentoring entrepreneurial researchers to investigate and develop new ventures based on their research innovation.
Sean has worked as a Senior Technology Transfer Manager with the University-Industry Liaison Office at UBC, as a Senior Business Development Manager at Melbourne Ventures at the University of Melbourne, and has served on Uniseed's investment committee. Currently, Sean is the Associate Director at entrepreneurship@UBC.
