Each spring, entrepreneurship@UBC and ICICS, the collaborators of HATCH Venture Builder, work to bring our venture and investor community together to create connections and build networks at the Investor Showcase.
Designed to feature later-stage ventures from our community raising funds, the Investor Showcase highlights ventures leading their industries, demonstrating the progress being made through research and innovation and the potential for early-stage ventures to solve global issues across climate, human health, social impact and more.
The past several years, we’ve seen highs and lows throughout the investment landscape. One of the great milestones that marks a ventures success is their early raises and investor relationships that line them up for a future that is sustainable, viable and scalable so they can continue to pursue their monumental work and impact.
As part of the Investor Showcase, ventures went through a rigorous application process, detailing their 4Ts: team, tech, traction and treasury, a made at e@UBC, for e@UBC framework, as well as the impact of their venture solution. Semi-finalists were asked to pitch in front of our external Evaluation Committee comprised of Aaron Stuart of WUTIF Capital, Alana Green of Active Impact Investments and Ralph Baddour of Badhouse Ventures. We are excited for you to meet our 16 finalists!
