e@UBC has a new Managing Director!

Kari LaMotte

entrepreneurship@UBC is delighted to announce the appointment of Kari LaMotte to the role of Managing Director of e@UBC effective Monday the 11th of March, 2019.

Kari joined e@UBC in July of 2018 as an Executive In Residence and Director of Engagement. With experience founding two tech startups, Kari understands the founder’s perspective from the inside, and has a deep understanding of what fast-growing companies need in order to grow and reach success.

“I have spent the last 20 years primarily in entrepreneurial roles of every flavour, so you could say “I’ve got the bug.” I am thrilled to join entrepreneurship@UBC because of the unique opportunity to help new breakthrough technologies get off the shelves and into the world. It’s an incredible chance to see innovation in action.” - Kari

Prior to e@UBC, Kari enjoyed a vibrant career including time as an executive search consultant with Corporate Recruiters, business development with an ecommerce SaaS company in the dotcom boom/bust days, and management of a team of over 110 sales associates in a direct sales organization where she won several awards.

In her free time Kari enjoys the outdoors, exploring new destinations in North America with her teenage sons, and playing strategy board games. She is passionate about music, the STEM industry in Vancouver, and new leader mentorship.

Working closely with our partners and staff, Kari will be responsible for taking e@UBC to the next stage in its evolution. Please join us in congratulating Kari on her new position!

Stay tuned for an interview coming out soon.
