entrepreneurship@UBC in collaboration with the Institute for Computing, Information and Cognitive Systems (ICICS) have leveraged this innovation and entrepreneurial drive, transforming discoveries to impact through venture acceleration in the HATCH Venture Builder. Together, both organizations have created a place where entrepreneurs with the drive to shape a better world receive the guidance and resources to achieve their greatest potential.

What is it 

The Investor Showcase spotlights high-potential, investible ventures across a range of industries currently supported through the HATCH Venture Builder (HATCH) to our investor community. 

Come out and meet our incredible community of ventures poised to become the next generation of anchor tenants in BC and Canada.

 

How it works

The Investor Showcase will feature a selection of ventures Ready-to-Raise Seed to Series A rounds, chosen by an external panel based on funding and readiness criteria established through HATCH Venture Builder. 

14 teams will pitch during the showcase, sharing their stories and solutions. Interested investors can learn more about the ventures by registering for the event as an ‘Investor/Funder’ to receive detailed information on who is pitching in advance as well as the opportunity to book meetings with the teams following the event.

The HATCH Venture Builder is a collaborative initiative between entrepreneurship@UBC and the Institute for Computing Information and Cognitive Systems (ICICS) supporting UBC’s thriving community of interdisciplinary innovators who are building ventures driving social, environmental and economic impact to solve some of the world’s most pressing problems.

The Institute for Computing, Information and Cognitive Systems (ICICS) promotes multidisciplinary research in advanced technologies among over 150 members across 10 different faculties and schools at UBC. ICICS’ translational activities support licensing by industry, uptake by the general user, and/or incorporation into policy, standards, and educational programs. ICICS provides an environment where early-stage companies can technically de-risk their innovation in a world class Makerspace, build their first teams with collaborative office spaces, access technical interns and an alumni network.
