What is Lab2Market Validate?
Are you a graduate student or postdoctoral researcher looking to validate your idea with the purpose of finding business or commercial value in what you are pursuing?
Lab2Market Validate is your opportunity to test and evaluate your idea in an entrepreneurial landscape. Lab2Market Validate is a national program and is now being offered across British Columbia in partnership with SFU VentureLabs and entrepreneurship@UBC.
Lab2Market is a nationwide program that helps brilliant minds in STEM graduate programs and postdoctoral programs reimagine their futures. Throughout the program, they’ll discover their passion for entrepreneurship, build an entrepreneurial skill set, and connect with the network they need to turn their ideas into successful businesses.
What types of industries do we support?
The Pacific Hub cohort is open to all teams based in British Columbia.
Program Highlights
- Build your entrepreneurial skills: Learn and practice key entrepreneurial skills focused on market research, customer discovery, and IP/patent landscape.
- Grow your skills: Gain access to a network of experienced researchers and entrepreneurs who provide valuable insights and mentorship.
- Commit your time: Apply for the next cohort that runs from January to April 2025, and be ready for a full-time commitment of 30-40 hours per week.
- Cost-Free Enrollment: Offered at no cost to participants.
- Apply for financial support: $15,000 stipend available per accepted applicant team.
- Expand your network: Access to mentors, industry experts, and potential funders to support your commercialization journey.
Who should apply?
- Entrepreneurial Lead - A full-time graduate student in a Masters, Ph.D., or Postdoc program who has developed or is currently developing tech-based university research.
- Technical Lead - A faculty member who serves as the principal investigator (PI) for the research project.
