Driven by the mission to fuel the next generation of entrepreneurs and their transformative innovations coming out of the University of British Columbia, we are excited to present the next cohort of startups supported by entrepreneurship@UBC . As the embedded venture builder at one of the top 40 research universities worldwide, the entrepreneurs supported by entrepreneurship@UBC bring with them incredible ideas and scientific discoveries that will shift industries and make meaningful, global impact.
We're beyond thrilled to introduce our latest cohort of entrepreneurs that have joined either of two streams in our Venture Founder program; CORE and Lab2Launch. The goal of Venture Founder is to help startups validate their business model and begin to build traction, leveraging our made-at-e@UBC, for e@UBC 4Ts methodology (Team, Tech, Traction and Treasury) rooted in a venture-centric approach that meets venture teams where they are at in their journey.
This new cohort of 29 teams are creating solutions for some of the world’s most persistent challenges, addressing such varied issues as access to novel health care solutions, immigration services, AI and plant-based biotechnologies, to name a few. They come from across our UBC community, including the Faculties of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Medicine, Science, Applied Science, Sauder School of Business and the Peter A. Allard School of Law.
