Celebrating Vancouver innovation: Launching INNOVATE Vancouver Vol. 2 at EIW!

Innovate Vancouver

entrepreneurship@UBC is excited to share that as part of our fourth annual Entrepreneurship Immersion Week September 26-28, we will be hosting a party with Global Village Publishing celebrating the launch of INNOVATE Vancouver Vol. 2!

Join us September 28 at UBC Robson Square to mark the launch of INNOVATE Vancouver Vol. 2.

Global Village Publishing curates exclusive, tech-enhanced coffee-table books that encapsulate the unique aura of cities worldwide. The series includes INNOVATE — a tribute to a city’s leading innovators — and the BEST OF series, each volume portraying the people, places, and businesses of global locales. Collaborating with local publishing partners, and shunning the pay-to-play model, Global Village Publishing encapsulates the entrepreneurial ecosystem of each city, envisioning the world as a connected network of innovators and entrepreneurs.

Their first Vancouver edition launched in fall of 2020 amidst the pandemic, highlighting the variety of startups, industry players and champions that feed the city’s buzzing ecosystem. Now, back in its second edition, INNOVATE Vancouver goes deeper into what makes Vancouver a unique breeding ground for startups and our value as an innovation player, expanding on the excitement - and accomplishments made - since volume 1.

As part of the Immersion Week festivities, this collaboration will bring together the entrepreneurship@UBC and wider Vancouver community to share in the launch of the book - and the ventures,  organizations and leaders featured within it - at Immersion Week’s final celebration on September 28.

Global Village Publishing is thrilled to be celebrating the launch of INNOVATE Vancouver Vol 2 as part of Immersion Week! We are united in our goal of bringing awareness to the innovations and innovators coming from the city of Vancouver and are excited to celebrate this with the entrepreneurship@UBC and Vancouver community!

- Ruby Sandhu, Publishing Partner, Global Village Publishing

The Global Village Publishing team has been a standout champion for innovation in Vancouver and a leader in demonstrating the collective impact our city is making on a global stage. This directly aligns with our goal of elevating UBC entrepreneurs and the work being done across our province at Immersion Week, and we are so excited to celebrate with them September 28!

- Michelle Sklar, Head of Venture Growth Strategy, entrepreneurship@UBC

Entrepreneurship Immersion Week brings together storytellers and movement builders from across our ecosystem, to share their insights on the strategies and tactics that helped them transform their ideas to impact.

This year, we are focusing on the intersections of climate and human health, inviting thought-leaders, experts and entrepreneurs from around the province to speak to this critical issue and shine light on how we as an ecosystem can take action. Registrants enjoy a variety of content ranging from fireside chats and panels, to workshops and the first ever Regional Ecosystem Showcase. The event will culminate in the launch party celebrating INNOVATE Vancouver Vol. 2 at UBC Robson Square, September 28.
