Venture Founder session

Info Session on Building a UBC Founded Business, in partnership with Michael Smith Labs

May 8, 2024

Are you thinking about translating your research into a product or service for societal impact? The Michael Smith Laboratories has invited entrepreneurship@UBC to come inform our department members about its upcoming Venture Founder intake (free lunch). Venture Founder is a UBC funded 16-week program that provides aspiring deep tech founders with a business skillset and surrounds them with highly skilled mentors to support their start-up-building process. Lynn Kulli, the Lab2Launch Venture program lead, will be joined by two alumni of the program from Michael Smith Laboratories and Center of Brain Health, who will share their firsthand experiences with the program. During the info session, you can expect to:

  • Gain a comprehensive overview of the Venture Founder program, including its structure, process, and benefits.
  • Hear inspiring stories and lessons learned from past participants who have gone on to launch ventures from their research projects.
  • Have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussions with Lynn, the alumni, and fellow attendees.

Please join us if you’re looking to take the next step with your research invention or simply curious about the entrepreneurial landscape.
