The e@UBC Accelerator Program provides new venture teams real world, hands-on learning about validating a business opportunity and starting up a company. Teams invited to join the program will use the concept of the business model canvas to identify and test your business model hypothesis, and engage in the customer discovery and validation process popularized by Steve Blank’s Lean LaunchPad process.
The Accelerator Program is about engagement: engaging with your industry ecosystem, your peers in your cohort, and your mentors. Start-up companies operate in a fast-paced, uncertain and chaotic environment; the Accelerator Program emulates this environment. You and your team will be getting “out of the building” and interviewing potential customers, competitors and partners, so that YOU become the expert in your market or industry ecosystem. At the end of the program, you’ll be equipped with the tools and knowledge to pursue your start-up opportunity.
Start Date: Friday October 25, 2013
End Date: Friday December 6, 2013
Format: 4 X 4-hour seminars (every two weeks)
Cohort size: 10 new venture teams, by written invitation and with the submission of a complete application.
Investment: No financial cost. We require a significant amount of your time and commitment.
What is Lean LaunchPad?
Lean LaunchPad combines start-up methods and techniques developed by a number of entrepreneur thought leaders and popularized by Steve Blank, a Silicon Valley serial entrepreneur. The Lean LaunchPad process provides would-be company founders the tools to identify, validate and substantiate new business opportunities. e@UBC has incorporated the teachings of Steve Blank’s Lean LaunchPad program into the Accelerator Program.
Next session begins January 2014.
