Pacific Venture Capital Conference

e@UBC looks forward to this week’s sold out Pacific Venture Capital Conference, organized by students of the Sauder School of Business. Including teams from over a dozen universities, this event provides business students with an opportunity to explore the field of entrepreneurship, finance, and venture capital. The conference hosts a career fair, networking reception, five-star gala dinner, speaker panels, and workshops.

Keynote speakers include:

  • George Moen (Former President of Blenz Coffee) – George was appointed President of Blenz, the Canadian Coffee Company, in February, 2007. He helped Blenz compete successfully against Starbucks, become the greatest Canadian coffee franchise, and placed Blenz in the top 10 brands.
  • Jesse Heaslip (Founder of – Bitcoin Exchange) – “We are at the tail end of the first wave of acceptance and just at the beginning of a much larger wave. There will be tremendous innovation over the next few years and a huge number of additional crypto coins.”
  • Dustin Sproat (Co-Founder of Shnarped Hockey) – Dustin wins over all five Dragons with his Shnarped Hockey app and $250,000 in funding. Since then the MBA graduate has been working closely with hockey-connected Dragon Jim Treliving.
  • Brian Wong (Co-Founder of Kiip) – UBC alumnus Brian Wong has been named to the Forbes Top 30 Under 30 list. After graduating from Sauder School of Business at age 18, he became one of the youngest entrepreneurs to raise capital.
