e@UBC Impact Fund
Catalytic capital for high potential impact ventures that are creating positive social and environmental outcomes
Impact investing has emerged over the past decade as one of the most talked about new strategies for tackling social and environmental problems. With the goal of creating measurable impact in addition to financial returns, impact investments support ventures that are working towards positive social or environmental outcomes.
Based on the success of the e@UBC Seed Fund, which provides funding for early-stage ventures at UBC, we have expanded our investment capabilities and developed a new source of capital support that meets the unique needs of social ventures.
The e@UBC Impact Fund incorporates e@UBC venture support infrastructure as well as our experience in supporting social ventures through the Coast Capital Savings Innovation Hub at the Centre for Social Innovation & Impact Investing to foster an ecosystem where social ventures from the UBC community can develop and thrive.
Who We Fund
The fund invests in the highest impact ventures from the UBC community. We are looking for ventures that explicitly aim to create impact through their business operations and pursue impact-maximizing strategies.
We support ventures where at least one of the founders, or key managers, is a current UBC student, faculty, staff member or recent alumni (within 5 years) or new ventures based around research undertaken at UBC.
To learn whether your venture may be qualified to receive investment from the e@UBC Impact Fund please register your venture with e@UBC.
