Vancouver, BC, (January 26, 2015) – Genomics.entrepreneurship@UBC (g.e@UBC), a Genome BC funded program that teaches and inspires entrepreneurship to increase the uptake of genomics research in natural resource management, is hosting their showcase event: 400 Seconds of Passion for Entrepreneurship on January 29th from 6:00pm to 9:30pm.

This annual event will highlight the diverse entrepreneurial perspectives that the g.e@UBC program inspires in the UBC community. The ten presenters range from startup founders, project managers, science communicators, and a Lean LaunchPad facilitator. Each presenter offers a unique perspective on entrepreneurship, with four of the presenters currently pursuing their own science-based ventures with the support of g.e@UBC’s partner, entrepreneurship@UBC.

The showcase event is in the lively and challenging Powered by Pecha Kucha style format; each of the ten presenters will only have 20 slides with 20 seconds per slide to tell their story and show how entrepreneurship can be a mindset and a driver for change. This will be an evening of community, great food, live music, and informative personal stories on entrepreneurship.
