Published on Monday, December 22, 2014

UBC-affiliated Arbutus Medical was recently covered by BBC News. Arbutus Medical is a startup that designs a drill cover to sterilize household power drills for medical operations. “In poorer countries, surgeons often have to rely on time-consuming manual drills for bone operations… but an ingenious cover makes hardware store drills safe for surgery – at a tiny fraction of the cost of specialist surgical drills.”

Arbutus Medical completed entrepreneurship@UBC’s Accelerator program and continues to engage with mentors from the Mentor Network during Open Office sessions.
